Romans 8:31 (NLT) – If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
Isaiah 58:8-9 (NKJV) – Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. 9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
Three Breakthroughs of Fasting and Prayer:
1. Healing
Isaiah 58:8 (NKJV) – Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily…
Matthew 17:15-18 (NKJV) – “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” 17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
• Faithless – Not connected to God.
• Perverse – Too connected to the world.
Matthew 19-21 (NKJV) – Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
• PRAYER Connects Us to God
• FASTING Disconnects Us from the World
Key Thought: Whereas FAITHLESSNESS disconnects us from God, PRAYER connects us to God. And whereas PERVERSITY connects us to the world, FASTING disconnects us from the world.
2. Holiness
Isaiah 58:8 (NKJV) – Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you;
1 Peter 1:14-16 (NLT) – So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”
3. Help

Zechariah 4:6 (NIV) – Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
John 15:5 (NIV) – “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
