Ford Recalls 850K Vehicles for Defective Fuel Pumps

Listen Later

This document from Automotive Dive reports on Ford Motor Co.'s recall of 850,000 vehicles due to defective low-pressure fuel delivery modules (FDMs) that can cause engine stalling. The recall impacts various 2021-2023 Ford and Lincoln models, with the issue linked to internal contamination and reduced clearances in the FDM's jet pump, especially in low fuel or warm conditions. While Ford is still developing a remedy, the company has received numerous warranty claims but is unaware of any accidents or injuries. This marks Ford's 89th recall in 2025, exceeding previous years and indicating a focus on improving quality amidst increasingly complex vehicle systems.
