Pastor Taylor Shippy - Matthew 14:22-33

This is third in a five-part sermon series entitled "#Jesus: Learning to Follow Christ." In one of the most extraordinary tales in all four Gospels, we find Jesus coming to rescue the tormented seafaring disciples by walking atop the waters. To add to this amazing scene is the inclusion in Matthew's Gospel of Peter being allowed an opportunity to walk on water as well towards Jesus. This rescue at sea by Jesus along with Peter's journey atop the surface of the sea is the focus of this week's sermon by Pastor Taylor. The forecast for following Jesus is stormy conditions, and it calls for strong faith.
