Carrying a grudge can crush your spirit, weigh down your soul, and burden your heart. It can ultimately destroy your life and relationships.

Lamech is a man who held a grudge to the point of murder. He was extremely bitter, had no sense of guilt or remorse, and felt fully justified with his revenge. We can choose to respond to hurt like Lamech — “You hurt me, I’ll hurt you back; I’ll hurt you worse; I’ll make you pay.”

Or we can respond the way Jesus taught us to respond, the way He ultimately demonstrated at the cross — forgiveness. We can lay our grudges at the foot of the cross.
