We love, because God first loved us (I John4:19). This is the key to our Christian life. God acts first! Our Lord gave himself for us, and we are to give ourselves for others. Self-giving love covers over a multitude of sins (I Peter 4:7 11). All of this is clearly seen in Luke 7...

In Luke 7 we meet a woman who has heard of Jesus and she humbly serves him--even though everyone else in the room judges her as a sinner. We don't know what she expected, if anything. He forgives her and uses her actions to teach his enemies about forgiveness and love.

Read the story, and find yourself in it. Are you the woman? The Pharisee? Or a bystander? Who do you want to be?

We need to be generous with others! Let us pray for God to have his way with each one of us!
