June Hunt reminds us that forgiveness does not require the other person to apologize, change, or even understand what they’ve done. Many of us grew up hearing “forgive and forget,” but June explains that isn’t biblical — God doesn’t have holy amnesia. We remember the hurt, and then we intentionally choose to release it. Forgiveness means taking someone off our emotional hook and placing them into God’s hands, trusting Him to deal with them in His time and His way. And when Jesus tells us to pray for those who hurt us, June encourages us to pray simply that God would change their heart. Even when the other person isn’t sorry — God can begin healing ours.
