My good friend shared a statement the other day that said 'Don't mistake forgiveness for Tolerance.' And that really sent me down a rabbit hole of thinking about that, especially in the context of Christianity.
I mean God literally didn't accept tolerance, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. To pay a debt we never could pay on our own.
It makes sense, because sin was separating us and God, but Jesus death bought us redemption. So essentially us continually giving into our temptations ie sinful behaviour, is tolerating our actions. But coming into Gods presence and his forgiveness, is letting go of our tolerance and behaviour.
The same as our forgiveness and tolerance can affect our personal relationships.
Much love, Shaun
