Former NSW State MP Rory Amon is standing trial on 10 charges including rape, attempted rape and committing acts of indecency on a child under 16. The court heard the alleged victim was 13 years old when the offences allegedly occurred in 2017, after meeting the then-27-year-old Amon on a gay dating website. Almost two dozen witnesses are expected to give evidence over the three-week trial, with the jury instructed to remain impartial and disregard media coverage of the high-profile case.
