The Patriots signed 31-year old QB Cam Newton to a one-year, incentive-laden deal. The former MVP is still rehabbing from foot and shoulder injuries, but his agent said he is :"checking out well" and eager for his next opportunity. The NFL also fined the Pats $1.1 million and a draft pick for filming the sideline of a 2020 Bengals/Browns game. NFLPA Director DeMaurice Smith was critical of players hosting workouts with teammates including QBs Tom Brady and Russell Wilson, saying those workouts went against union advice regarding COVID-19 health and safety. Later in the hour, Mariners manager Scott Servais and M's GM Jerry Dipoto both speak on Spring Training 2.0. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
