You probably remember the story. The recently established cabinet agency The Department of Homeland Security was looking for a new leader with the departure of Tom Ridge. Bernard Kerik, a regular image in the coverage of post 9/11 rescue missions and police investigations, forever at the side of mayor Rudy Giuliani, was tapped by President George W. Bush to take the helm. And then....it all fell apart. One of the truly penthouse to outhouse disgraces in recent political memory. Kerik is now a free man and is talking about what happened. How did this one time New York City Police Commissioner and part of the Provisional Government of Iraq end up as an inmate in the very system he once oversaw? He joined Milt to talk about his very rapid fall from grace and what he has learned, what he is doing now, and what he thinks of the war on terror and thoughts on prison reform.
