KP recently announced that he is no longer a Democrat and has now aligned himself with the Republican party.

This gives the Fort Bend county Commissioner's court a Republican advantage of 3:2 votes.

Obviously this helps the Republicans in changing the district lines in their favor just as the Democrats had done their way a few years ago.
