Good Friday with Jesus
Genesis 50:1-3 KJVS
And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him. [2] And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel. [3] And forty dayS were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.
Four is the number of the Cross (the cross is four- pointed). Four is the number of holiness; change and transformation from a low sinful estate into a more glorious estate and destiny. Four is a reminder of death to self and being made made alive to righteousness. When eagles get to age forty, they feel like dying but in order to survive and prolong their years to about seventy, they go into hiding and undergo a process that changes them and gives them fresh feathers and claws, et cetera. They come out of their hiding invigorated to go on their famous flight of rebirth and then live on another thirty years. Change is necessary if you want to reach for the heights and not die before your time or become useless to God and all. Jesus changed His body when it was time for Him to reach for the heights in the resurrection and the ascension. But preceding this was his burial in the tomb! Change metamorphoses us. It makes us better people redesigned for better things. And that's what our world needs, better things from God for everyone.
Jacob, Joseph's father was embalmed for forty days. The Hebrew translated as " embalmed" is "chanat". It means "to ripen or to make spicy". The body of Israel was spiced up by physicians, learned people who knew how to prolong existence and to improve life. The body of Israel was prepared in the land of Egypt, a type of the world or civilisation.
God wants to refine us. To do this, sometimes He hides us away in " the world" where we can gain experience with the fine things of the world and interact with enlightened fellows. God wants us to by this process, be ripened as a suitable fruit or seed that can be sown in the earth( in the land of Canaan) for a greater yield in His body.
Allow God to spice up your life on forty-day journeys. Become eager for Spirit- inspired change and transformation. The Lord will ready you to be a ripened and spicy delicious fruit in the Kingdom of God.
