To close out 2020 we bring you an early Christmas gift ... an extra episode of the Forward, Capital Crusaders! Podcast. We get great news from AD Dixie Jeffers regarding winter sports, and follow that up with an exclusive interview with new football head coach, Brian Foos. We give no mercy to Coach on day 1 of the job and pepper him with questions about his journey and his vision for Cap Football.

On season two, episode six of the Forward, Capital Crusaders podcast ... we lead off the program with our regular AD update with Interim Director of Athletics, Dixie Jeffers. Coach will let us know what’s going on with basketball, fan attendance, and how it’s imperative to be wise in our decision making this holiday season. On deck and ready with an update on Capital Softball is Head Coach Andrea Nagy. We then welcome to the program from the class of 2008, All-American football player James Starks. We find out very quickly that he has a personality for the camera, or microphone in this case, as he unveils why he is coming back to the Buckeye State and shares a story or two from his time on those NCAA playoff teams. We will wrap up the show by featuring “the team behind our teams“. We welcome to the program head coach of Capital Cheer, Lila Pettibone, and senior Gabriella Engoglia, to talk about what it takes to fly high with Cap Cheer.

On Episode 2.5 of the Forward, Capital Crusaders! podcast:

1. We receive a couple pieces of good news from Director of Athletics and Recreation, Dixie Jeffers!

2. In the first of a two-part segment, Assistant Coach Jason Sturgill gives us our Cap Baseball update!

3. Part 2 features a different side of Coach Sturgill, the side dedicated to service through his time in the U.S. Army. Coach shares with us a piece of his experience, hardships, and how its all equipped him with the knowledge to begin his own mental toughness coaching business.

4. We catch up with former record-holding wide receiver, Shane Fouch '98, of Capital Football.

We wrap up with our Alumni Spotlight, where we welcome Track & Field 4x All-American Lizzy (Stanton) Finnegan ‘09. Together we talk about how she lit up the track and now extinguishes fires with the Columbus FD!

Let’s get ready for a couple of inside looks! We start in the AT Room where we talk with Head Athletic Trainer Matt Smith about getting and keeping athletes healthy, as well as some of the things you may not know about him or his job. Then, we talk with a young Cap alumnus who has taken his passion to create change to his career. Former football player Kane Murray ‘19 is working in state politics and shares a day in his life with us serving Ohioans. All that and your AD Update with Dixie Jeffers!

On this episode of Forward, Capital Crusaders! we have the grand daddy of all features! Tune in and get to know Capital University Interim President Dave Kaufman in one of his first interviews since taking office. Welcome to Season 2 of the Forward, Capital Crusaders! podcast. 

* We'll kick off (like we normally do) with our AD Update with Interim Director of Athletics and Recreation Dixie Jeffers. 

* We'll then move onward with our first program check-in of the new season and hit the hardwood with Head Men's Basketball Coach Damon Goodwin.

* It's a longer second half, which begins with our alumni spotlight. We catch up with All-American Nici Workman '04 of Capital to take a peak at her career, both in the office, at the home, and on the court as a Hall of Fame volleyball player.

* We'll wrap up with our feature piece in which we take a look at the life and works of Assistant Football Coach Keith Rucker, who went from small town Mississippi to the NFL and now is using his knowledge to empower our Cap athletes!
