Can witchcraft place a curse on your family, do familiar spirits have authority over believers, and is fasting necessary for deliverance? In Generational Curses, Fasting, and Familiar Spirits, we’ll examine what Scripture actually teaches about spiritual bondage, expose common misconceptions about the enemy’s power, and discover how Christ’s finished work frees us from curses, condemnation, and the fear of darkness.

What do astrology, divination, familiar spirits, and modern prophetic practices have in common, and how can we distinguish genuine revelation from spiritual deception? In this next message of The Powers of Darkness and the Supremacy of Christ, we'll explore the dangers of seeking supernatural knowledge apart from God and why our identity, direction, and spiritual authority are found in Christ alone.

From ancient witchcraft and demonic powers to modern New Age spirituality, humanity has long sought to harness unseen forces for power, protection, and control. Discover how Jesus Christ defeated the powers of darkness, established His supremacy over all creation, and gave believers a new identity and authority to live free from fear and deception.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus demonstrated absolute authority over sin, death, and the grave, giving His own life as the ransom that secured our eternal redemption. His blood doesn’t merely forgive us—it cleanses, sanctifies, and makes us holy, preparing us as God’s dwelling place to be permanently indwelt by His Spirit.

How Do You See God - Jennifer Merrill by Forward Church Sermons

On the Day of Atonement, God gave Israel a vivid picture of sin being judged, transferred, and carried away through the two goats. In Jesus, that shadow becomes reality: He bore our sins, removed them from us, and accomplished once for all what the old covenant could only picture year after year.

Joshua didn’t hear a different promise than the rest of Israel; he simply believed what God had already said and interpreted the giants through that promise. Because he knew God was with them, he could look at an intimidating enemy and say with confidence, “They are bread for us.” He mixed faith with the promise, and that faith changed how he saw the problem in front of him.

What you focus on shapes what you see, and when you continually complain about what’s wrong, you can become blind to God’s provision and even begin to loathe the manna at your feet. Instead of letting the snakes of life consume your attention, mix God’s promises with faith, keep your eyes on Jesus, sow gratitude, and let love—not spiritual elitism—be the true measure of your maturity.
