In this Labor Day episode, Jen and Tessa talk about some of their experiences, past and present, that shaped what labor day means to them (and what it seems to mean to most people) along with developments with Line 3, the recent Supreme Court ruling on the eviction moratorium, and the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. Then, the DSA Madison Labor working group presents a panel featuring organizers from UE 150 who have made massive strides in unionizing in the right to work state of North Carolina. We'll hear from Darrion Smith (UE Eastern Region VP), Angaza Laughinghouse (UE150 former president), and Nathanette Mayo (UE150 former president) alongside some local perspectives.
The podcast closes with a list of upcoming events.
