I suppose that I had known about "channeling" tracks caused by radiation, I found this irritating as this was this articles big reveal and revelation. The idea is that dark matter will leave faint nano tracks that can't be detected by today's detectors seams conjecture only, I am afraid. It is unclear how nanotechnology will come to the aid of discovering nano tracks and it wasn't explained how helium ion beam work or Xrays will uncover these.
