Frederick County DSS, Foster Care for Children and Licensing Description FOSTER CARE: Places children in either foster homes or group homes when it is clearly determined that the children can no longer remain in their own homes. Placements are court-ordered with the intent to return children to their own home as soon as possible.
FOSTER HOME LICENSING: Provides the opportunity for individuals and families
to become licensed foster parents for non-related children. Applicants must be 21 years of age, in good health, meet your family's financial obligations, pass a home health and fire inspection, agree not to use physical punishment, agree to a criminal background check, and complete training requirements.
