Welcome to the first episode of Fostered in Unity. Host Greg Helton sits down with Keith Fortier to share why this podcast exists: to help Christians, churches, nonprofits, and community partners come together to care for vulnerable children and families.
Greg and Keith share their different paths into foster care and adoption. Keith grew up in a family that fostered and later became a foster and adoptive parent. Greg describes how his family’s journey unfolded more gradually, including seasons when the next step was unclear. Together, they make room for an essential question: if you cannot foster or adopt, where might you still have a part to play?
They also discuss how prayer and relationships helped bring organizations together through NC for FAMs, and why this show will share stories of both faithfulness and hardship. Future conversations will feature families, church leaders, nonprofit workers, and others serving across the foster care community.
