God's plan for Christ to come into the world was not a mystery. He had planned it before the foundations of the world were laid. During the past two months we have seen the diety and manhood of the coming Messiah; we have seen that He would be the redeemer who would be the sacrifice for our sin and our passover lamb, and who would offer Himself as a sacrifice as a priest in the order of Melchizedek. Last week, we saw how Christ referred to Himself as the Light of the World - as He stood at the base of the Great Menorah in the Court of the Women during the Feast of Tabernacles. That Great Menorah was the representation of the pillar of fire that led Israel through the wilderness and protected them from the Egyptians at the Red Sea. Today, we begin to look at some of the types that God placed in the lives of the Israelites that pointed to the coming Messiah - such as the Manna in the wilderness! ...
