In Levitical law there was a specific manner in which the sin sacrifice was to be offered. The presenter was to bring a young bull without blemish, lay his hands on the head of the bull confessing his sin, and then kill the bull. The priest was then to sprinkle the blood of the bull seven times on the altar, anoint the horns of the altar with the blood, and then pour the remainder of the blood at the base of the altar. This "Shadow" was fulfilled in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the altar of the cross!
