Before Israel entered into the Promised Land, Moses took one final opportunity to inculcate into the nation what God had done for them and what He expected from them. Part of that challenge included a prophecy that God would one day send them another Prophet. In conjunction with that prophecy he gave two warnings: 1) Do not be conformed to the customs of the nations, and 2) Do not be deceived by false prophets. Sadly, Israel did not heed the warnings.
