It is vitally important that we understand, not only what Jesus accomplished by His sacrifice on the cross, but also the significance of His blood being poured out for us. God told us early on in the bible, "Life is in the blood", meaning, OUR eternal life rests on the blood of Jesus. Without the blood there is no remission of sin.
