We consider the third key foundation of the doctrine of the Trinity: Scripture distinguishes the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We find this distinction is grounded in their eternal relations of origin. The Son is eternally begotten of His Father. The Holy Spirit eternally proceeds from the Father and the Son.
