When Scripture admonishes us to hold fast to our confession, it is not to imply that we would not remain saved if we don't maintain our confession. After all, it is our believing, not our confession, that brings us into salvation.
What maintaining our confession does to us is to get us established in conviction of what we have believed and experienced.
Acknowledging what God has done for me, confessing the belief that got me saved, is in itself an act of thanksgiving. To not do this, then, is ingratitude.
The life of faith is a celebration. When I confess these things to myself, I am, in effect, rejoicing over what God has done.
So much wisdom awaits you in this teaching, the first part in our series on "Four Areas Your Faith Confession Must Cover".
Be richly blessed as you listen!
