Four Quests Unanswered

What is it that forms
the snowflakes in endless
intricate patterns,
or Autumn leaves
each painted uniquely?
What causes love to
grow between opposites,
and yet you never see a
monkey mating with a giraffe?
Why is it that we spend
our lives chasing dreams,
when they grace us
each night in slumber?
Why do we die,
just when we have begun
to grasp the many reasons
to go on living"?
Are we meant to solve what
befuddles us like these
four quests and so many
others that cause us to
be afflicted with curiosity
even though we know it
has often killed a cat.
So many mysteries yet
to be answered as we
wander briefly through
the nameless wonders that
share our planet.
Perhaps when we move on
it will all be revealed to us
and our spirits thirst for
knowledge untaught
will be quenched.
