FOX Wheels: A Bump In The Road For Tesla’s Model X

The roll out of an all new electric SUV gets scrapped by one automaker, as another takes a chance on aluminum and the popular F-series. FOX News Radio’s Jeff Monosso with the latest “Fox Wheels”: It’s FOX Wheels. We won’t see Tesla’s Model X electric SUV just yet. Tesla CEO Elon Musk telling investors he wouldn’t bring a product to market that doesn’t delight customers. The X’s falcon-wing doors — apparently problematic. It’s back to the drawing board. ———- The brand new Ford F-150 is now rolling off the line in Detroit and headed to a dealer near you — almost 700-pounds lighter than its predecessor; built with military grade aluminum for improved gas mileage and hauling capacity, and there’s the rugged and stylish new design. (Hettle) “We believe that we’ll bring a truck to the market place beyond anything that anyone has seen — in terms of styling and craftsmanship — and so, so important tough truck performance.” Ford VP Bruce Hettle saying the American auto giant is setting what he believes will be an industry-wide standard. A big bet for Ford. F-series trucks have been the best-selling vehicles in the U.S. for 37 straight years. The starting price for the F-150 –about 27 grand.
