    Send us Fan Mail

In the early months of calendar year 2025, the Trump administration issued a series of executive orders aimed at the federal government acquisition process to enhance efficiency and allow for new entrants into the marketplace to deliver new ideas, better processes and innovation to the needs of the federal government.  Over a year later, we are starting to see some of those results.  The speed of acquisition may be getting quicker, the compliance regulatory burden is tapping the brakes.  As explained by Jeff White of JA White, compliance is not going to go away, but it does need to make adjustments.   The good news there are some tools the industry can use to better adjust to both the speed of acquisition and the regulatory compliance challenges we face today.

  • FPS Podcast #81 - Transformation the GovCon Way

    Send us Fan Mail

In late July, Luis Avila Managing Director of  BDO's Technology and Transformation Division spoke with me at our 2026 GovCon Week held annually on Hilton Head Island.   The topic was transformation.  How do organizations, handle transformation?  Whether it is a enterprise-wide software or a complete overhaul of work functions.  Implementing change is hard. It takes the understanding of who leads, who executes and what is the final objective.   We talk about the differences between project vs program management; we touch on stating on a good foundation and we talk how even though the transformation is successful on the inside, did it produce results to the bottom line?

I hope you enjoy this episode and listen in!

  • FPS Podcast #79 - NDAA's Section 1826, Historic Changes for DOW Contractors?

    Send us Fan Mail

By FAR - the  most significant changes to streamlining Federal Procurement since FASA and FARA of the 1990s.   Paul Bailey of Capital Edge Consulting explains these changes and potential impact to the industry.

Signed into law in December 2025, the NDAA 2026 give sweeping changes that, to some analysts say, puts 90% of DIB entities in a position not to comply with as much regulatory burden.   Changes include exclusions for TINA, a much higher threshold for CAS compliance and a change in accounting compliance for many.

Though the new rules may exclude many organizations, still the largest of large contractors have the same regulatory burden on  awarded contracts over $100MM (starting in June 2026).

    Paul explains these changes.
