Homily from the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. The hearts of God's people have been hardened by the sin of disobedience. Jesus sets out on a mission to conquer the hearts of his people. How does he do so? By calling people to obedience. It's kind of a scary word - and certainly a concept not friendly to many of us - but it's also the difference between someone who is sort of following Jesus and someone who is a disciple.
