Homily from the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. Jesus uses striking imagery to warn his people about the end of time, when the Son of Man will come and take his disciples with him to Heaven. The imagery creates a sense of urgency for disciples to purify their desires so they can be ready to see their Lord. We're invited by Jesus to prepare ourselves for the Heavenly banquet, which begins at the Sunday Mass, where Heaven touches earth.
