From the beginning the Catholic Church has taught than the Eucharist is the body blood soul and divinity of our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ. Sadly, the belief in that truth is on the decline and more and more people including Catholics are seeing the Eucharist as only a symbol. Nothing could be further from the truth. Believing in that falsehood has led to a declining in reverence for what is the summit of Catholicism, Communion with God by eating his flesh and drinking his blood.
