As the publicity for the Speaker Series event at the Washakie Museum and Cultural Center says: Over the course of nearly five months, members of the Nez Perce tribe were pursued by the U.S. Army for 1,200 miles from the Idaho Territory through Yellowstone National Park and into the northern Montana Territory. As the tribe fled through Yellowstone, unsuspecting tourists were made victims as well. The stories of their struggles will be highlighted and discussed by presenter Fran Scranton.
