French President Emmanuel Macron said "it was time" that his country recognises a Palestinian State - to preserve the possibility of a two-state solution. Macron was speaking to world leaders gathered for a special meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. He called it a move to pave the way for peace. The US and Israeli delegations did not attend the meeting.
