Digital banking fraud is surging across Latin America, with social engineering scams jumping 155% in 2025 and account takeover attempts quadrupling in Mexico, according to a new report from BioCatch. While some countries like Argentina have seen success with real-time fraud intelligence-sharing networks, the overall threat landscape remains severe, particularly on Android devices where remote-access tools are widely available.
