Freaking Felon

I recently had an experience where I was told that a church organization was inclusive - I beg to differ.  What is their definition of Inclusive? What is your definition of Inclusive? Are there different definitions for different audiences? I challenge you to think about that!

In a world that loves reality tv - why do we love some and judge others so quickly? These individuals do not have backgrounds, yet we want some to fail and be miserable!  Why aren't we cheering for all of them to get the help they need to be better individuals and healthier partners? Love is Blind made me think about how we quickly judge those getting out of the criminal justice system and how we want them to fail to get out of our neighborhoods and away from our families - yet, on the other hand, we want them to "Succeed."  Which is it? 

Yes, you saw that right.  This recording is a little different than the other interviews.  I have met hundreds of individuals who have been nervous and scared of an upcoming job interview - especially their first one after being released from prison.  This is a short ten-minute meditation to help regain your confidence before walking into the next job interview!  

Tricia's story is full of obstacles that she has overcome.  She has been dealing with the criminal justice system since she was young.  Trying to find belonging, Tricia navigates the life of the gang and how her life changed when she found out she was going to be a mother. Tricia's journey is inspirational and heartfelt. 

We explore the question, "What do you really want?" and learn how to tune into ourselves to listen to our minds and hearts and challenge third-party opinions - ESPECIALLY our own third-party opinion that lives inside of every one of us.

Nathan shares the various stages he went through when looking at how to make money after having a criminal background. He focuses on mindset, networking, and common technology that we all have access to.  

Michigan has a new law coming into effect on April 1st.  People may want our prison system to look more like Norway - but is that enough?

After serving 23 years in prison, Sean entered an NYC shelter to get financially back on his feet.  After working the program, finding some life coaching, and establishing his long-term goals - Sean has become a successful Master Barber.
