Free Form Radio - Episode 045

Listen Later

Update on our week:  Hello FFR Fans!  Its time for another episode of Free Form Radio.  In the first half of the show, we go yelp edition and give some stories of our Chicago eating experience.  Daniel has a mixed experience at an Olive Garden for a family gathering that reveals how Olive garden has become more corporate in recent years and has lessened in quality.  The service was very slow, but the waitstaff were apologetic and polite and provided complimentary desserts.  Andy questions if anyone gets nervous when someone in their party becomes loud and complaining towards waitstaff at a restaurant.  Do you worry about the waitstaff tampering with food or do you trust them completely?  They compare fast food/corporate restaurants to full service restaurants with an upper scale atmosphere.  Andy and Daniel talk about Pequods being a great location for Chicago Deep Dish pizza.  It is a place for a foreigner to get a taste of true Chicago-style Deep Dish pizza.  Daniel recently had a great experience at the Chicago location where he loses a bet to Andy on beer pricing in Chicago.  It averages around 4-6 domestic and 7-9 craft/import.  Andy throws it out there that he does not like IPA beer. (be gentle on Andy you craft beer fans) We at FFR beg the question on what the proper time for dinner is around the world.  Daniel says 5-6pm, Andy believes 7-8pm. What do you think? The second half deals with news and entertainment.  Andy discusses Entourage and how it went from a hit TV series to a successful and well done film.  The group sheds light on Avengers Civil War and how it has some of the most beautifully done, "comic book page come to life" fight scenes in comics based film.

Article:

One of the articles of the week discusses the UK and a study done revealing there are a group of people open to relationships with artificial intelligent android.  Daniel also gives a brief review of Ex Machina and references other movies that deal with similar issues with Artificial Intelligence and human evolution.
The second article of the week deals with technology being used to track information on the bombing in Belgium and how the system was bombarded with calls that forced the system to only accept text and other messaging methods versus phone calls.  It brings to light a possible antiquated tele-communications system and the necessity to upgrade our methods of communication via voice.
