John 8:34-36
34 Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. 35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. During this episode I never noticed that Son is written in lower case, and uppercase S. So when we read verse 35 son is written with a lower case, suggesting to me that when we believe God hasn't or cannot set us free from sin, or believe it's not sin at all. The son has no power to redeem.
But when we believe the Son has set us free, we are free indeed. That's when Jesus has relationship with those that follow him. It's important to read God's word as truth, not partially possibilities or potential promises.
Much love, Shaun
