Free Life, Paid Death

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 (NLT)

Have you noticed how everything in life comes with a price? We pay with money, effort, time… and spiritually, sin also comes with a price. And the payout? It’s serious — death. Not just physical death, but eternal separation from God, the end of everything good.

But here’s the best part: God offers eternal life for free. Yes, free! There’s nothing we can do to earn it. You can’t “pay” with good deeds, attending church, or trying to be a “good person.” Salvation is a gift, given out of love because God wants you close to Him — forever.

Jesus doesn’t just give eternal life — He is that life. When you connect with Him, when you trust and walk with Him, that life begins now. A life with purpose, direction, and peace — even when things get tough.

Think about it:

Are you trying to earn God’s love, or have you accepted His free gift? What areas of your life are still stuck in sin’s “paycheck”? How can you grow closer to Jesus today?

“God, I know that sin separates me from You and that I can’t earn salvation on my own. Thank You for offering me eternal life through Jesus. Help me to live this new life every day, connected to Him. Amen.”
