Listen to Liz Budde, Lecturer in Customer Service and Eva Milroy, External Liaison Officer, talking about the FREE Online Courses Dumfries & Galloway College have launched this week (w/c 4 May 2020). In response to the current COVID-19 outbreak the College have amended the delivery format for a range of its courses to allow individuals and businesses easier access to opportunities to upskill, refresh or retrain. Whether you are furloughed *, currently out of work or looking to do something useful with your time you may be eligible to access these courses for free! Dumfries & Galloway College are delighted to support you, in these rather difficult times, with these exciting professional development opportunities. The College has been developing new delivery models for a number of courses that are normally delivered in a classroom setting. The new delivery model is based on on-line learning materials which will be supported through regular interactive workshops with the course instructor. Please note that all courses are now FULLY BOOKED: REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene· WorldHost Principles in Customer Service, Higher National unit from the HNC Hospitality @ SCQF Level 7 -  Intermediate Food Hygiene Childcare· Understanding Childhood Illnesses · Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health Care: · Mental Health Awareness · Understanding Autism · Awareness of Dementia · Understanding The Safe Handling of Medicines) For further information on these courses click through to the Dumfries & Galloway College website. Please note that there are eligibility criteria that you have to meet in order to be considered for accessing these courses for free: Be resident in Scotland Commit to completing the on-line learning materials and attending the interactive workshops to ensure achievement of the course by the specified date Have access to a computer, tablet or phone with audio and video to allow you to engage with the instructor as part of the interactive workshops; *Rules detailing staff training while furloughed: “Furloughed employees can engage in training, as long as in undertaking the training the employee does not provide services to, or generate revenue for, or on behalf of their organisation or a linked or associated organisation.
