With all the talk of NAFTA in the air, SPP takes on the topic of free trade and its counterparts.

In this week’s episode we cover some of the economic systems implemented throughout history, how the free trade agreements we’ve entered into seem to have impacted the economy, the economic theories behind both restricted and open systems of trade, as well as the moral implications of free trade, mercantilism, and protectionism. End game? Should we try to encourage production in house? Open things up to the world but incentivize local purchasing and manufacturing? Or blast it wide open and just trade like crazy people with no rules or guidelines?
