Luke 4:18
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
Jesus came to give us freedom, but what does that really mean?
I Peter 2:15-16
For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.
Galatians 5:13
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Psalms 119:45
and I shall walk in a wide place, for I have sought your precepts.
Big Idea:
Freedom in Christ gives you the ability to explore life to the fullest without the consequences of bondage.
II Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Closing Thought:
You can express your freedom anyway you choose, but if you express it in the wrong way, you’ll end up back in bondage.
