Throughout history, mankind has battled slavery in every nation, but this evil was never part of God's plan.  Most people think of slavery only in terms of race, but there is another kind of slavery we all battle.  It is slavery that the enemy brings upon us, whether it is to negative thoughts, our jobs, material things, or to trying to please everyone around us.  The enemy keeps us wrapped up in bondage - and we allow him to unless we turn to Jesus to help us with our insecurities and fears.  The demon-possessed man in Mark 5 was run by the legion of demons until he encountered Jesus.  Once he came to Jesus, he was set free and his life was changed.  The other people asked Jesus to leave because they were more comfortable in the slavery they were in than accepting this awesome change.  Inspect your own life.  Are you too comfortable in your slavery?  Is it time for you to step out into freedom with Jesus?
