In this quick Freedway Thinker, I discuss some of the problems that occur when people attempt to make arguments from the early church fathers to support their theological or historical claims. I have been a pretty staunch advocate of doing so sparingly and with great caution. The methodology needed to discuss the early church and their beliefs if riddled with landmines. And most people step on the very first one they see.
