This week we discuss the reasons behind the spree of serial killers in the 1970s, before moving onto a series of murders that happened in the decade (obviously). In 1971 Washington DC was struck by its first serial killer, dubbed The Freeway Phantom and over a period of 17 months the killer brutally murdered six black girls, between the ages of 10-18 years-old.
