The FDA and Freshpet, Inc. announce the recall of Freshpet Select Fresh From the Kitchen Home Cooked Chicken Recipe. This pet food is contaminated with Salmonella. Dogs consuming this product can develop a gastroenteritis with bloody diarrhea, fever, and abdominal pain. These sick animals may spread salmonella to other animals or to humans. The affected product has a sell by date of 10/29/2022 and was sold by Walmart stores in Alabama and Georgia; and Target stores and other select retailers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia.
