“FRET NOT”
Please turn in you Bibles to Psalm 37
WHEN IT COMES TO FRETTING, HERE ARE YOUR OPTIONS
A. FIND A LOOPHOLE
“FRET” (Hebrew) = to grow warm, to glow, to flare up or burst into flames
B. HOW TO STOP IT
V 3: “Trust in the Lord”
QUESTION: Why is this so hard to do?
C. GOD’S SOLUTION
V 4: “Delight thyself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
V 5: “Commit your ways unto the Lord, trust also in Him, and HE SHALL BRING IT TO PASS.”
V 7: “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.”
D. OUR OTHER OPTION
V 8: “Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any way to do evil.”
“Don’t become so angry and upset that you,
too, want to do evil.” Psalm 37:8 (ERV)
A BETTER WAY:
a. Trust (Be confident in God)
b. Delight (Be soft and pliable)
c. Commit (Roll it over)
d. Rest (Be dumb)
e. Wait patiently
(Live as carefree as a child)
