Friday, 24 October 2025; Friday of Week 29 in Ordinary Time (Year C, Green).

Readings:

•First Reading: Romans 7:18-25.

•Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 119(118):66,68,76-77,93-94 – “Lord, teach me your statutes.”

•Gospel: Luke 12:54-59.

Main Point:

Be alert to God’s presence and guidance in the ordinary moments of life.
Homily:
In the Gospel, Jesus rebukes the crowd for being able to read the weather but failing to recognize the signs of God’s presence in their lives. They could predict rain from clouds, but not see that God’s Kingdom was unfolding before their eyes.
Saint Paul, in the first reading, describes our inner struggle: even when we want to do good, evil sometimes takes over. We often face these two battles one inside our hearts and one outside in the world. Both require spiritual awareness.

To “interpret the times” means to see how God is working in the people, challenges, and opportunities around us. For instance, when someone annoys you, that might be your “kairos moment” a chance to practice patience and forgiveness. When a door closes in life, maybe God is redirecting you toward something better.

The Way Forward:
•Begin each day by asking: “Lord, where are You leading me today?”
•In difficult situations, pause before reacting interpret them through faith, not emotion.
•See each challenge as an invitation to grow in grace.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, open my eyes to recognize Your hand in my daily life. Help me to read the signs of Your love and respond with wisdom and peace. Amen.
