Bible readings are Psalm 119:1-16 and I Peter 3:1-12 

The note on this passage in today's passage says: "Sometimes 'the Bible says ...' is not quite as straightforward as some might suggest. A certain amount of critical awareness may be needed if we are to read it responsibly."

That gets an 'Amen' from me!
