This morning, we have the privilege of hosting an esteemed guest who is not only a distinguished historian and academic but also a devoted custodian of Bapedi culture. Dr Tlou Setumu, whose passion for heritage preservation has recently embarked on a groundbreaking initiative – the launch of an open-air museum dedicated to upholding, teaching, and preserving the rich history of the Bapedi nation. In our conversation with Dr Setumu, we look at the motivations and inspirations that drive his tireless efforts in heritage preservation. Dr Setumu and his team have launched an open-air museum that stands as a testament to his commitment to ensuring that the legacy of the Bapedi people is not only remembered but also passed down through generations. He is currently heritage practitioner in Limpopo Province, specialising mainly on the Blouberg-Makgabeng-Senwabarwana.
