Our next guest is a liberation movement with its roots in the Black consciousness movement and the work of Stephen Bantu Biko. AZAPO has called for One Azania, One Nation that is enshrined in human solidarity, dignity and economic prosperity as it launched their manifesto ahead of the 2024 national and provincial elections.

AZAPO has pointed out that despite 30 years of democracy in South Africa, black people still face poverty and landlessness.  The party set out the following promises: (1) nationalize the Reserve Bank, (2) make the state the custodian to redistribute land, (3) remove guns from local communities, (4) abolish provincial governance structures and (5) address the jobs crisis.
