The House Armed Services Committee has advanced a bill that includes $250 million for a major defense tech partnership between DARPA and the Air Force Research Lab in Rome, New York. At the center of that investment is the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, a project championed by Rep. Elise Stefanik to help define what makes a quantum computer “useful”, and to keep the U.S. ahead of China in the global tech race.
